I lived in North Point until secondary school. On weekends my dad loved to take me on the tram to Yuen Kee dessert shop in Sai Wan. On weekdays we often went to Centre Street for dinner. That’s how I developed my love for food. I was a bit chubby when I was young.
One day, my dad took me to a restaurant famous for fish balls. We bought a full bag to bring back home. I still remember it was on Holland Street in Kennedy Town. I was holding the heavy bag and there was a tram coming. My dad started running and I ran after him. I was so focused on catching the tram that I loosened my grip. All fish balls fell on the ground. It was such an embarrassing moment. My dad said "We can always come back and buy it again." I think the shop is gone now, but I will never forget the fish balls on Holland Street.
