I love this city - I lived here 25 years ago and have been coming back ever since - the different cultural blend, the contrast of the old features like the tram and Star Ferry with new buildings sprouting up all the time.
I rarely have the time to take it all the way from the start of the line to the end, but today I did and I love to sit at the top in the front. It is a great way to see the city if you’re feeling lazy like me. I look out and take notes of places I want to revisit, from the Chinese medicine streets to the dried fish and seafood shops.
I can see the evolution through the different neighbourhoods; the offices and glass buildings and then the temples and markets. I used to live on Kowloon side and I feel like the vibe varies greatly depending on the neighbourhood. When tourists visit Hong Kong they are racing around trying to see everything, but I prefer this way, relaxing and taking it all in.
