When I was studying at HKU, I had to attend evening classes every Thursday. It was a part-time programme and that’s why it started late. Our classes ended at 10pm. I was going back home to Tai Koo and the colleague sitting next to me to Yau Tong so she had to go via North Point. Then I said “why not take a tram together?”
We enjoyed our after-class chat on a slow tram passing through quiet streets. We ended up doing the same every Thursday! It took us an hour to get to North Point, but we enjoyed each other’s company so much and had so many things to talk about. That’s how we became best friends.
Even now we have graduated and entered into very different career paths, we still regularly meet for a Ding Ding ride to relive the memories of the old days.
