I just left the restaurant I work at Happy Valley and I am on the way back home to Western District with my boyfriend. I take trams every day and actually the tram route links the two main places of my life - my home and my workplace.
For me the tram has always been the “Ding Ding”. I remember as a child my dad would announce that we were going to take the “Ding Ding”. Just the sound of it arriving and that bell remind me so much of my childhood. We never called it the tram stop, it was the “Ding Ding stop”. I associate the tram with a feeling of being close to home.
The fresh wind always gives me a good feeling and a sense of not being trapped. I love that trams haven’t changed much. The “Ding Ding” I take today looks almost the same as the one I took with my dad.
