On his way back from a basketball match with friends in Victoria Park, Steven has an extra spring in his step.
“I specifically choose to take the tram, because it really gives me more pleasure. It is a moment to slow down, relax and take a rest. I grew up in this neighbourhood of North Point and I remember taking the tram when I was a young kid. In those days it was one of the only ways to go to the Western District, since there was no MTR.
For me, the tram is not only a mode of transport. Of course, it’s cheap, but riding in itself is a special experience. Just like going to Tsim Sha Tsui by Star Ferry, you earn leisure time. Taking trams become a choice that I make every week.”
