I am terrified of heat, so I wanted to take advantage of it not being too hot yet to really enjoy the tram. For me the air-conditioned tram is a good option! It moves slowly so there is more time to look around.
In the MTR more people would probably be looking at their phones, whereas on the tram you are more intrigued by your surroundings. It is a really good way of seeing busy areas without actually being in the middle of the crowd.
When I was younger it was not a common event to take the tram since we lived in Chai Wan and the tram did not go all the way there, so for me it is still a special occasion.
